Detailed Cinnabon-Style Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

🔹 Step 1: Activate the Yeast

  1. Pour warm milk into a large bowl.
  2. Add yeast + 1 tbsp sugar.
  3. Stir gently and rest 10 minutes until foamy.

👉 If it doesn’t foam, the yeast is inactive.

🔹 Step 2: Make the Dough

  1. Add remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Add flour one cup at a time.
  4. Knead for 8–10 minutes until soft, elastic, and slightly sticky.

💡 Dough should feel plush, not dry.

🔹 Step 3: First Rise

  1. Place dough in a lightly greased bowl.
  2. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1½–2 hours until doubled.

🔹 Step 4: Roll & Fill

  1. Roll dough into a rectangle (about 40 × 30 cm).
  2. Spread soft butter evenly.
  3. Mix brown sugar + cinnamon.
  4. Sprinkle generously over the butter.

🔥 This is where the Cinnabon magic happens.

🔹 Step 5: Roll & Cut

  1. Roll tightly from the long side.
  2. Cut into 10–12 thick rolls using dental floss or a sharp knife.

🔹 Step 6: Second Rise

  1. Place rolls in a buttered baking dish.
  2. Cover and rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.

🔹 Step 7: Bake

  • Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 22–25 minutes
  • Tops should be lightly golden, centers soft.

❗ Do not overbake — gooey is the goal.

🧀 FROSTING (VERY IMPORTANT)

🔹 Step 8: Make the Frosting

  1. Beat cream cheese + butter until smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar + vanilla.
  3. Beat until fluffy.
  4. Add milk gradually for a pourable, glossy frosting.

🔹 Step 9: Frost While Warm

  • Spread frosting over rolls while still warm
  • Let it melt into every layer 😍
